At its December meeting, the board reviewed a draft memorandum of understanding (MOU) that outlines the levels of involvement and roles for the board of education and the board of commissioners regarding the bond construction/renovation projects for Brevard High School, Rosman High School, and Rosman Middle School. The MOU also references a lease agreement and an interlocal agency agreement. Mr. Donnahoo recommended that a committee be formed to discuss the MOU and work through any issues. The committee met on December 20, after which it was suggested that the two boards hold a joint meeting for additional discussion. A joint meeting was held on January 16. At the joint meeting, the two boards discussed next steps and the commissioners agreed to provide any thoughts or specific input they would like to see included in the agreement.
