At the last three meetings, the board has discussed an offer by the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) to purchase a right-of-way at Brevard High School for a 10’ wide concrete sidewalk connecting the current sidewalk in front of the new gym and the driveway closest to Gallimore Road. The amount of the offer is $3,160 (the equivalent of $40,000 per acre). The board has received confirmation that the project will not interfere with bond construction at the school. Mr. Barger will give an update on lighting (see attached).
The board may take action on the offer at this time.
