The FY21 budget ordinance passed by the Transylvania County Board of Commissioners on 6/22/20 appropriated $1,561,886 for school capital projects and equipment. The funds were appropriated by a combination of function (equipment and vehicles) and project. After prioritizing projects based on need and available funding, the superintendent would like to request amendments to the Capital Outlay appropriation from the Board of County Commissioners.
The attached document outlines the Board of Education’s initial request, the amount funded by the commissioners, the difference, the prioritized amended request, other sources of funding, and the project/function difference.
A motion is in order to approve the proposed requested amendment and authorize the superintendent to request an agenda item at the next available Board of County Commissioners meeting.
