American Education Week & Annual Thanksgiving Meal
American Education Week is November 13-19, 2022, the week before Thanksgiving. It is a time to thank and honor the people who work in our nation’s public schools--everyone from bus drivers and classroom teachers to cafeteria workers and administrative staff. Each year the board adopts a proclamation designating American Education Week in Transylvania County (see attached). In addition, all current and retired school system employees are invited to a free Thanksgiving meal in the school cafeterias as guests of the board (All other adult meals are $5.00). Central office staff volunteers will help serve the meals. This year’s Thanksgiving meal is scheduled for Wednesday, November 16.
A motion is in order to adopt the proclamation designating the week of November 13-19, 2022 as American Education Week in Transylvania County.
