On November 18, 2025, following application approval by both the Transylvania County Board of Commissioners and the Transylvania County Board of Education, Transylvania County Schools was awarded a $62,000,000.00 needs-based construction grant from NCDPI, funded by North Carolina Education Lottery revenue.  In accordance with the applicable governing statute, which includes a County local matching fund requirement, both Boards must approve the NBPSCF and NC Lottery Fund, “Form of Agreement.”  Dr. Fletcher will present the Agreement, approved by the Board of Commissioners on December 8, 2025, for Board’s consideration.
 
A motion is in order to approve the NBPSCF and NC Lottery Fund, “Form of Agreement.”

B. Brevard Elementary and Brevard Middle School Improvement Plans

At the October 20, 2025, Meeting, the Principals of Brevard Elementary School and Brevard Middle School presented their respective School Improvement Plans.  At the November 17, 2025, Meeting, Chief Academic Officer Carrie Norris reviewed School Improvement Plans for each TCS school, all of which were unanimously approved by the Board.  At tonight’s Meeting, Ms. Norris will, again, review the School Improvement Plans for Brevard Elementary and Brevard Middle Schools pursuant to Board request.  These two Plans are available for viewing on our website.
