North Carolina Representative Cody Henson has filed a bill (HB 127) that if approved, would return Transylvania County Board of Education elections to nonpartisan.  Last year, a bill was introduced that changed the school board elections from nonpartisan to partisan.  At its last meeting, the board directed the superintendent to draft a resolution in support of Representative Henson’s bill.  A draft resolution is attached for your consideration.
A motion would be in order to adopt the resolution in support of House Bill 127.
