Congratulations, Class of 2021
After a year like no other, the Class of 2021 celebrated the culmination of their K-12 educational careers with family and friends in three inspiring graduation ceremonies held at the Brevard Music Center over the Memorial Day weekend. Starting with Davidson River School on May 27, Brevard High School on May 28, and ending with Rosman High School on May 29, the commencement ceremonies were a great tribute to the Class of 2021 and all they have achieved. TCS is a National Board Accomplished District
Transylvania County Schools has been identified as a National Board Accomplished District! In 2019, the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) launched its National Board Accomplished District program to recognize the role that districts play in ensuring that every student has an accomplished teacher every day. As a part of this program, 79 districts will be recognized nationally including Transylvania County Schools. This recognition is based on National Board-Certified Teacher (NBCT) self-reported data showing that at least 20% of teachers in the district are Board-certified.
Summer Feeding
Starting on June 10, Transylvania County Schools will once again offer meal bundles on "Drive-Through Thursdays" all summer long. Every Thursday* from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at our usual cafeteria locations, families can drive-through for a seven-day meal bundle and a hot meal for every child in the household. Each bundle has frozen fruit cups, gallons of chocolate milk, breakfast and lunch favorites, and a different treat every week. If you can't come at the usual time, call your cafeteria or email nutrition@tcsnc.org to schedule an appointment. Plus, we will start our usual bus routes on Thursdays to deliver meal bundles at select locations, with seven days of breakfast and lunch. *There will be no meals the week of July 4th or the last week before school.
