Each year at it first meeting in June, the Transylvania County Board of Education recognizes the employees who have retired or will be retiring during the current school year.  Some of the retirees have spent their entire careers with the Transylvania County Schools, and some have worked in other school systems in addition to Transylvania.  The 19 people being recognized this year represent a combined total of 501.5 years in public education.  The board would like to offer its thanks and commendations to the individuals named below for their years of dedicated service to public education and the students of Transylvania County Schools.  Congratulations and best wishes to all!
